The Tenga company is the most famous of all the sex toy manufacturers in Japan. It is probably even the most famous sex toy company in the world at this point. If you really sit down and think about it, who is bigger? You might say that Fleshlight is, but they’re mostly based in the United States where sadly male sex toys are still frowned upon by a large percent of the population.
Tenga is so big that and Japan so open about sex and male sex toys that Tenga is talked about openly throughout Japanese society. Comedians joke about Tenga cups on television and people see Tenga advertisements while they’re walking down the street in the middle of Tokyo. Tenga is like the Coca-Cola of plastic pussies!
Since Tenga is so big it has the opportunity to get into a lot of different things too. Or maybe that’s because Tenga wants to stay so big. Either way, a lot of stuff comes out of Tenga that you might not expect if you weren’t an avid fan of the Japanese sex toy industry like me.
Three years ago there was the hugely popular and viral Tenga Halloween costume. This year Tenga has spent a lot of time and energy announcing the “Tenga Robot Project.” It’s like a Tenga transformer that goes from being an onahole to a kawaii battle bot with a few motions.
Is this something you ever imagined you would see? Probably not. It takes some real imagination to come up with an idea like this. It takes real initiative to turn it into a reality. I don’t know what it takes to launch a major ad campaign around it. Guts? Whatever it is, it is effective. You can find reports and pictures about the Tenga Robot Project all over the internet, especially on websites and social media accounts in Japan that are in any way associated with Japanese sex toys or sex in general.
Even some totally mainstream people and sites are picking up on the Tenga robot, which in fact is probably the least surprising aspect of this whole thing considering how widespread and accepted onaholes are in the land of the rising sun today.
There is a never ending supply of stories claiming that the Japanese nation is disappearing, that there aren’t enough Japanese kids being born, and that Japanese guys don’t want to have sex any more. I don’t know the full details about sex and population in Japan, but with all my experience it doesn’t seem like there is any shortage of horny guys in Japan. Creative horny guys too!
In some countries you can’t even buy a sex toy because they’re banned. In the US, sex toys are mostly legal but there are only a few domestic options (though thanks to the internet and the ease of modern travel Japanese onaholes are available to Americans now too). In Japan there are so many sex toys that entire buildings are dedicated to selling the current models. On top of that, there is a leading company like Tenga that is always trying to push the boundaries and innovate to keep the interest of happy fappers everywhere engaged in the art of onanism. I’m glad to see it.
The Tenga Cup Robot is on the way. I am not sure if all the big online stores like OtonaJP, J-List, and Toy Demon will carry it, but even if they don’t those who are really interested will be able to pick up one of these transformers even if they have to fly to Japan in person! I for one welcome our new Tenga cup robot overlords.
